Pastor Clanton is a graduate of the University of Missouri and attended Gateway College of Evangelism.

He has authored two books, "United We Stand", a history of the United Pentecostal Church, and "I Surrender All", a missionary biography of Paulene Gruse in Liberia.

In addition to serving as Senior Pastor, Pastor Clanton is activelt involved as Director of the Africa Team, short-term missions teams for evangelism and church growth on the continent of Africa.


Pastor Clanton and his wife, Norma, have been married 39 years and have two children. Charissa and husband Mark Fuller, are pastoral assistants at Abundant Life and Pastor of Abundant Life/Blanchard. Jeffery is actively involved in the music and audio ministries of the local church, and is a graduate of University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK.

Pastor Clanton's vision for Abundant Life church is three-fold: to grow spritually and numerically; to provide a refuge for worship and strength to the community; and to assist every believer in finding his/her place in the body of Christ.

An effective ministry to a community is built through years of integrity, commitment and excellence. The motivation for ministry is a passion for God and a compassion for people.

Senior Pastor Charles Clanton accepted the pastorate of Abundant Life in June, 1987. He previously pastored for 8 years in Russellville, Kentucky and served as Editor for the Word Aflame Press at the World Evangelism Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He served in the Air Force for four years, with a one-year term in Viet Nam in 1969-70.
